Posted: Apr 27, 2010 at 0255 hrs ISTKanpur Days before the Joint Admission Board (JAB) meeting scheduled at New Delhi, the IIT directors met at IIT-Kanpur to discuss some important changes proposed for the IIT-Joint Entrance Exam (IIT-JEE). During the meeting on Sunday, they chalked out their plans for the PAN IIT summit to be held at Greater Noida on October 29 and also discussed the issue of promotion of employees as per the Sixth Pay Commission.
The IIT-JEE 2010 paper held on April 11 carried several printing errors. Plus, several questions were not printed in the Hindi version of the exam. During the meeting, the IIT directors discussed a better and improved format of IIT-JEE from 2011.
IIT-K Director Sanjay Govind Dhande said: “Our aim is to ensure that none of the students suffer due to a printing error. Therefore, they have framed a better format for IIT-JEE.”
Without revealing the proposed changes, Dhande said: “It is a highly confidential issue, and if the changes recommended by us are approved we might see a change in the format of IIT-JEE from 2011.” The PAN IIT Summit 2010, to be attended by over 3,000 former IIT students, will be held at Greater Noida on October 29.
