First Things First and Then Internet Surfing

Googling and Surfing is a dangerous business. Beware!. So many alluring things, looks like you can keep learning something or the other for a life time but don't forget your priorities. Sometimes I forget - what did I start searching in the first place. You wanted to know something very precise yet you are taken for a ride (You end up wasting hours and hours reading unimportant stuff). First Things First and then Internet surfing. (Things look very fancy and Indeed they are fancy but what if they have no practical relevance to you. Consider for example what will I gain practically from learning about some XYZ machine used in a Hi Biz ABC company. Sometimes it is more tricky, it looks like I am learning something about my life. Consider surfing something about anthropology or Psychiatry. Now it looks that these are related to me as a human being but what about my more specific nature, - Me as a FIITJEE employee, Me as a father of a 2.5 year old, Me as a husband of a simple wife.

It is not that one can't read interesting stuff for entertainment, but one must understand it at its place value and not fool himself. There may be times to put entertainment first but such times are less than the actual instances when entertainment is actually put first.

I believe in stoicism (If I got it right!). The purpose of life is to achieve long term happiness (sometimes it requires sacrifice of short term happiness) and the ultimate goal is to achieve a tranquil mind free from all kinds of disturbances.

Now enough entertainment ;)
I still have two important tasks to finish:
1. Letter to Manish Anand
2. A cicular to all the people involved in recruitment.

Tasks for today

1. Making one paper (3 hours)
2. Prepare for first class (Electrostatics Lecture)
3. Get the recruitment detailed plan fixed from col J.R. vatsa and tell him my class clash
4. Asking Manish Anand about what help he wanted for CVKK
5. Manuals finalizing
6. Asking sajeev for my fiitjee id and password

Letter of a father to the teacher

Dear Teacher:
I am entrusting my child to your care for this school year. I do this willingly, but with concern and a degree of parental trepidation.
You see, my child has a priceless possession-her spirit. My role has been to nurture and protect it. I want you to be sure to do this as well. Therefore, let me offer a few suggestions that may help you to understand and appreciate her, and be the kind of supportive guide she needs as the two of you begin this adventure together.
First of all, I ask that above all you cherish and preserve her spirit. She may not be the brightest child in your class, but the lift of her spirit will be as radiant as any. It glows when praise and encouragement are offered; it withers when disparagement and humiliation prevail.
Her spirit will either carry her forward in to a life where she will apply her energy with purpose, caring and a goal for achievement or in to a future where she will settle for routine and mediocrity. I want her to run toward challenges, not away from them. I want her to test her strength against the harsh realities of life, imbued with an inner courage that tells her she can overcome whatever obstacles she encounters. Please help her spirit grow.
Her self esteem is emerging. She is attaining a sense of self as she begins to grasp who she is and what she can do. But her developing self is fragile, her steps are tentative and she will need your hand. Encourage her as she gropes her way forward, crawling when she should run, and passive when you know she should lead. She is young, after all, so inconsistency is her standard behavior. Discover her skills, boost her abilities and cheer her accomplishments while quietly identifying her limitations. Then help her improve, circumvent or overcome whatever it is that impedes or blocks her progress. She knows better than you how to overcome them. Please be her caring assistant.
My child is coming to you eager to learn. Do not, I beseech you, disappoint her. Make her studies stimulating and enjoyable. So far, in her young life, it has been mostly fun. Her educational experiences have been as natural as breathing. Please continue this pattern.

Place her learning as a higher priority
than your teaching,
and make her and her classmates the focus of your class. ……
You see, this is the year you will become one of the most important persons in her life. She will decide to emulate your values and standards or reject them, she will respect and remember you for the rest of her life, or she will dismiss you and feel disheartened for what you refused to give her. I sincerely want you to be the subject of her admiration – It will be up to you. …………………..

With love and hope,
Her father

Neha (my wife) is not here. I enjoyed her absence for first few days but now I am again missing her and its been just one week. I am also missing gullu ( my daughter). In absence of my wife, I was free to do whatever I like, sleep whenever, eat whatever, browse whatever, whenever, watch , hear, read whatever whenever. Sounds cool .... Life without wife... bachelorhood once again! But I feel that my wife provides me an indirect protection for me from myself. I am my own best friend as well as worst enemy. The Institution of family is a great protector. In presence of my wife I am not as free but then I am more disciplined which in many ways is good for me. I was waking up early , doing yoga taking trifala playing with my daughter reading motivational books, waking up early .... but in her absence everything has gone haywire.
My sleeping and waking up are no more scheduled. I am wasting myself in excessively browsing and watching videos. Don't feel good about it but they look like compulsive habits in absence of my wife.
I am really missing my daughter. Although when she was here I didn't spend much time with her but after all I am her father with lots of dreams and visions for her. She is the singlemost beloved person for me. She defines the purpose of my life and that means all the activities from reading , to earning to buying a house...
Today I plan to use my day effectively. I shall read Alladin factor (Mark Victor Hansen) for one hour and then blog from what I read. Then I will finish one paper, then I will find out from Manish Anand if kalyan kumar needs any assistance from me.
I have also been allotted a batch , I have to complete the academics, leadership and communication training manual. Busy times are coming ahead.
I want to buy a house. I have to check out the sheikh sarai house. Need to check if it meets my requirements and then arranging for loans etc. Lots of things to plan in life. You really need finances, any amount of salary looks small. So I must do something really great to get a raise once again. I must get a good feedback.

About This Blog

This blog is going to be a medley of several things. Whatever comes to my mind, I shall scribble here. It is just like my diary. On an off I may share a joke, one liner, motivational article, something I liked on the web, what I did with my day etc. While I shall write for my pleasure, it will give me greater pleasure if others enjoy it as well.
