Kolkata, May 26 (IBNS) FIITJEE Kolkata returned with a mind boggling 33 per cent success rate in this year’s IIT examinations with five students in top 500 from the eastern region.

The successful candidates from this region are as follows:

1. AIR 159 - Siddarth Sarkar
2. AIR 237 - Susnato Mondal
3. AIR 253 - Shounak Dhar
4. AIR 308 - Debayan Das
5. AIR 333 - Vatshal Saran

Detailing the success rate, FIITJEE State Head Debdeep Banerjee said, “The total selections in IIT-JEE, 2010 reported so far are 2378 from Long Term Classroom Programs and Analysis & Concept Strengthening Program. FIITJEE also has 9 in top 20, 38 in Top 100, 71 in Top 200, 186 in Top 500.”

FIITJEE, conceived in 1992, has served the industry for almost two decades now producing successful candidates who have gone on to make India proud.

Now FIITJEE with foreign investment of Rs 100 crore is moving into the world of structured education with FIITJEE World Schools.

“We plan to open 60 World schools over the next two years in India and West Bengal will have at least two schools, one in Durgapur and another in Kolkata,” he added.

Taking about the success story in IIT, Mr Banerjee said, “The credit goes to the students who work so hard. We only facilitate them with the best teachers, most of whom are former IITians, and a syllabus structure that actually eases on their board exams too. So they can concentrate on one structure and in the process fare well in both the board exams and IIT.”

It seems that the total selection of 2378 in IIT-JEE 2010 from FIITJEE is the highest in the country from a single institute. This is something outstanding by FIITJEE second year in a row after producing AIR-1 in IIT-JEE 2009. Satyajeet Singh, Jaipur
