well i want to crack IIT ....or maybe AIEEE or any good university....but is it necessary to join classes ?

its not the question of necessity. coaching classes help you go in the right path, help you to select the correct books, guide you in your doubts, help you in all other ways.
even i dint join coaching and wasted my 11th thinking that am preparing correctly but i was wrong. now i have joined fiitjee and am gonna give jee2011.
i think its best you join a coaching class as it will make your preparation easier.
