192 students from Orissa cleared IIT-JEE exams

Bhubaneswar: 192 students from Orissa cleared IIT-Joint Entrance Examination 2010. Saswat Padhi is the topper for the zone. Padhi is a student of the city-based Pokhariput DAV School.
Padhi attributed his success to his parents, teachers and hard work. He said that he used to toil for seven to eight hours daily while preparing for the entrance examinations for the prestigious institution. His all India rank is 43.
Suhas Maji of Bhubaneswar and Manas Sahu of Rourkela have qualified the exam under the OBC quota.Both of them have been placed in 38 and 138 ranks respectively. Similarly, Siddharth Pati from the steel city has also secured 1274 all India rank. All these students will be eligible for admissions in 15 IITs, ISM Dhanbad and IIT-Bhubaneswar.
A total of 4, 92,000 students from the various States participated in the JEE entrance examination this year. Last year, this number stood to be around 3,85,000.
